Celebration Ashley Yoga

I felt so honored this morning to be able to lead a pre-wedding bridal party (plus some) yoga session outside by Table Rock Lake. It was so fun to soak in the sun as we sweat our way through the different poses. Through the last few months I have grown to appreciate and even love the discipline of yoga.

Congratulations Ashley. May you relax and enjoy the next 48 hours!

In other news:

The countdown is still on. 3 days and counting. Join us here for the festivities.

The results are in!

Well, it was a fun run. Three lessons learned:

1)My goal times were based on my performance in training. Lesson? Those mile times are a lot easier said (on a treadmill) than done (in real life with 35,000 people weaving around you)!

2)My legs can take a WHOLE lot more than my tummy can. Legs felt phenomenal. Tummy, not so much.

3)NEVER, NEVER get within 5 feet of a port-a-potty on race day. Phew!

So here were my splits. Not what I wanted, but pretty consistent.

1 - 8:30
2-4 - 7:46
5 - 7:52
6 - 7:41
7 - 7:48
8 - 7:23
9 - 7:29
10 - 7:31
11 - 7:21
12 - 7:22
13 - 7:26

And I was 25 seconds off my goal. Oh well.

I think I'm switching to yoga and kickboxing for awhile. I may have to change the name of my blog...

Bummer

Bad news. Just found out I'm in corral H in the race. That means I'll have about 12,000 people in front of me. Bummer. Forgot how crowded this stinkin' race was.

Indy Mini

I'm running the Indy Mini this weekend. And suddenly everything on my body is falling apart! Lovely.

My feet, shins, and knees are killing me. Honestly, I should have gotten new shoes about 4 months ago, but we are "living like no one else". Vomit.

But my goal is still 1:39. Yikes. Makes me nervous even saying that out loud.

So my average pace needs to be 7:30. Which means I will shoot for the following breakdown:

Mile 1 & 2: 8:00

Mile 3 & 4: 7:45

Mile 5, 6, 7: 7:30

Mile 8, 9, & 10: 7:15

Mile 11-13: 7:00

And no, I don't have a Garmin. I admit to being a stone age runner. So I will be doing the math in my head. Which I'm really not very good at!

This gives me about a 2 minute leeway to feel sorry for my achy knees.

I don't have my post-baby hormones this year, but at least it's flat!
