Friends

One of my clients (who by the way has made amazing transformations in the areas of strength, endurance, and weight) said that as she loses weight and gets her eating under control, she's constantly hearing negative comments from her co-workers and friends. This drives me CRAZY. Why is it that we feel so threatened when we see someone having success? Particularly in the area of health/fitness. People have asked her, "How long is this health kick going to last?" And made statements like, "Oh _______, is too good to go out for pizza with us."

When I met my goal in running my half-marathon under 1:45, most of the people in my life were excited and happy for me. A few, however had some negative comments. I realized that it was the people who were comparing me to themselves that were negative. Ridiculous.

Let's surround ourselves with the people who build us up. Let's be the people who build others up. Let's NOT compare ourselves to others. And let's rejoice with our friends when they succeed.
