Track

Today I went to a Jr. High track meet. It was incredible. I was only able to stay for about 20 - 30 min. cause my squirly 2 year old was trying to throw rocks at the runners, BUT it was a great 30 min.

We cheered for the gangly 6th & 7th graders. We watched the 6th grade girls pass up a lot of the boys on the 4 x 800 relay. And I got the itch.

I LOVE track. I have always loved it. When I was in HS the 4 x 800 was my race. Our team held the school record for a whole 2 years (which honestly isn't very long for a record to stand). And now...I have to admit, I would LOVE to coach. I still think about my HS coach fondly and keep in contact with my college coach. Although I love a very lonely sport, remembering my track & CC days reminds me that my sport was not always so lonely. The crazy long runs were done with some of your best friends by your side. So fun.

One more track meet next weekend. This one is 5th grade. That should be a hoot!!

Hey - give the poor "gangly" kids a break. If I remember correctly, you still thought you were a sprinter in middle school! :)

True. And a really terrible sprinter I was.
