Here's an excerpt from an email I sent a friend earlier:

"Let me just tell you about my morning. It was AWESOME! I was (and still am really) BONE cold. It was frickin' freezing. But they did this thing well. We ran through water up to our ankles (through a creek), up huge, I mean enormous hills. There were people hurling everywhere. There were people biting the dust. Literally. They would slide through the dirt and eat rocks and mud. There were lots of turned ankles. You were either going up a hill, down a hill, or around a hill the entire run. It was NUTS. But super fun. You should all do it with me next year. I'm serious.

And there were brats & beer at the finish line.

Good day."
